learn how to knit raspberry stitch....

still remember my last post?
about fingerless glove that i made as a trade with my best friend?
i just finished it!!!
a pair of fingerless gloves..

YAY!!!!

sedikit terharu melihat kenyataan saya akhirnya menyelesaikan fingerless glove yang satunya lagi kurang dari sehari.. ^^

what i did after this?

well,
few days ago, i also learn about raspberry stitch on knitting,.
dan terpikirlah dalam benak saya,
kalo shawl yg untuk sherly pake raspberry stitch aja,..
lucu bo'... ada buntelan2 kecil2 gitu nonjol.. hihihihi...

dan akhirnya saya belajar dari hasil donlotan youtube,.
i always love the knitting tips from judy,.
she taught about the pattern and stitch clearly,.. ^^

ini hasil row 1 saya..

keliatan gaaaa buntelan-buntelan kecilnya?? just like raspberry huh??

and i kept knitting till 11 rows..
my thumb got more numb, so i stooped and binding it off...

here's the result after binding off...

now you can see it clearly, and stop questioning why they called it raspberry stitch...
ya kaaaannn??
buntelan-buntelannya semakin keliatan bukan??? :D

sisi yang kelihatan kayak stockinette stitches itu adalah sisi yang saya binding off...

how to make this???
well,..
this raspberry knit stitch basically contains of multiple 4 stitches + 2
maksudnya??
jadi, panjang stitches yang diinginkan adalah kelipatan 4 ditambah 2,
contoh nih,,,
panjang stitches yg ingin dibuat sebanyak 24 stitches,
nah, untuk bisa membuat pola raspberry, 24 stitches itu perlu ditambahkan 2 stitches lagi..
so,...for the first time, we have to make 26 stitches,..

after that??
setelah itu,..
row 1 : purl semuanya..
row 2 : (a lil bit difficult)
you have to slip 1 stitches to working needle, then knit, BUT!!, do not slip it yet,
you have to hold the working needle, put yarn in front, twist it, then purl, AND DO NOT SLIP IT,
after purl, HOLD it again, put yarn at back, twist it again, then knit. and NOW you can SLIP it to working needle. then you can see that you got 3 new stitches.
just continue doing it?
oh NO!!
after you've got 3 new stitches, you have to put yarn in front again and do PURL to 3 stitches together or you can say 3Ptog.
NOW you can continue doing like that,
when you almost got to the end, you can see only one stitches left, then you just do knit like usual...

row 3 : do purl along the row again,
row 4 : you do the same thing like row 2, but the opposite.
mean??
you slip 1 knit like before, then you do 3Ptog.
put the yarn at back, do the knit, DO NOT SLIP IT YET!
put yarn in front, twist it, do PURL, then put yarn at back, twist it again, do KNIT, just like you did before where you got 3 new stitches..

and continue doing like that,.
just remember, the odd row for PURL all along
and the even row for make the raspberry pattern, don't forget you have to do it in opposite too.. remember your row!!

why i binding it off so soon?
beside my thumb got more numb,
ternyata,
working with size 5 needle and not really worsted weight yarn,
hasilnya kurang okeh,..
selain itu, saya hanya buat basic knitnya cuma 22 stitches,
i think i have to buy new size needle and new yarn (with more worsted weight yarn of course)

after this, im gonna learn how to knit bamboo stitch and fisherman stitch,..
and of course i will share it to you... ^^
